APLE HOMEWORK FOR CHRISTMAS 1, 2 & 3. Deadline January 11th.

Hi students.
I hope you are having a good time with no lessons and exams to worry about.
Here's your homework for Christmas. The deadline is Wednesdays 11th 2011, so  you have over 15 days to work on it. Try not to leave everything for the last moment.

Homework 1/10 is all from your book "Real English and Speaking 3".

You have to do all these activities, write the answers in a Word file and send it to me to the usual address javiprofeingles@hotmail.com.
Page 44: Activity A (parts 1, 2, 3). You don't need to write the questions, just the answers.
Page 46: Activity D (parts 1, 2)

Look all the expressions about unit 9 (page 81) up in a dictionary or on the Internet and write the translation for each one of them.

Homework 2/10 is Internet based.

During the second term, we are going to work with English Central. It is a site where you can watch small videos, with or without the script and then you can listen and repeat what the video says and get a certain amount of points. First, I want you to register. You can do it here.

Write your real name, an email and a password. As usual, WRITE THE INFORMATION DOWN somewhere or REMEMBER IT so as not to forget it next time you have to work with it.
Once registered, try to get at least 2500 points (the more, the better)

If you can...

Try to listen to at least 30 minutes of English every day. You can watch videos, films, series, student news, listen to music, watch TV, etc., but try to listen to as much as you can.

Homework 3/10

Go to CNN student news, choose any day from January 3rd to January 9th and record a summary of the news for that day. Then, send me your audio file to my usual address,

The last part is just for some of you.

If you still don't have the text book or headphones, ask Melchor, Gaspar and Baltasar for it.
If you haven't worked during the first term, January 1st is a good time to take the resolution to start working and doing your homework.

Happy New Year to you all.

APLE COMPUTER ROOM LESSON DECEMBER 12th

Dear Students,
Today is the oral exam for some of you. Remember that Lourdes is the first one to come to the corridor. My advice is for you to study vocabulary and practise your oral alone or with a friend (if  possible who knows more than you and can correct you).
If you are bored or have already finished the oral exam, you can have a good time by playing who wants to be a millionaire. You can do it here.

15 minutes: Time to play the "guess the word game". You have to play the first option, the one with five letters.

Write a comment at the end of this entry with your name and your score.

15 minutes: Time to play "Who wants to be a millionaire". Write your name, press continue and good luck. Remember you can ask the audience, call a friend or choose the 50% option if you are not sure about the answer as in the real contest.

The same as before, write a comment at the end of this entry with your name and your score.

APLE COMPUTER ROOM LESSON DECEMBER 5TH

Hi students,
First of all, I am going to tell you your mark for homework for this term. Some people did great, but most of you can do much better. Remember this mark is really important. Three points of your final mark depend on homework.
Then, Fernando is going to carry out his presentation. Let's see if you are quiet while he talks.
In the third place, you are going to practise some listenings, since your mark in the last one was not very satisfactory. Go here and practise "Budget hotel rooms" and "Great apartment living" in Medium and "Home Repairs" and "Housing complaints" in Difficult.
Finally you are going to practise about renting a flat, complaining about it here. When you have practised some conversation, try talking to Mike, the robot. You can do it here.
I hope you enjoy the lesson.

Vocabulary for Desperate Housewives

In case you have forgotten any of the vocabulary photocopies from Desperate Housewives, you can download them here. You just click on the red title of the episode you have lost and can print from there.

Good luck.
