APLE HOMEWORK 8 & 9 /10. Deadline February 13th (2 weeks this time)

Dear Students
This time your assignment is a bit longer, more complex and more personal. It will also have a numeric mark. One mark for the appearance and another mark for your English.
Following the famous song by One Direction "The story of my life", I want you to write and tell me the story of your life.

You can do it with Eduglogster, Brainshark or Glossi.
I need photographs, text and, of course, audio from you.
We can talk about it on Tuesday in our class, since Monday it is Rhona's Day.
You can see some examples on this incredible blog: http://www.uptodate-amef.blogspot.com.es/

Have a nice, long weekend.

NUMBER THE STARS 3º ESO

I hope you enjoy the book assigned to you this year. The simple fact of reading an unabridged book in English will be quite a feat for most of you and surely I will know how to acknowledge it.
In class we will comment on the book every week and you are going to think of some questions for each of the chapters of  "Number the stars" which we will discuss in class on Wednesdays or Fridays. You must read 4 Chapters every week.
In order to help you collaborate and make this task more interesting, I have created a document where you will type out your questions and you will share them. In this way, all of you will know the questions your classmates have asked. Don't forget to include your name when you make your contribution (at the end in brackets). The final test will be based on some of these questions. So take good notice!
You can also contribute to the document by answering some of the questions your classmates have asked.
If you click on the image below you will be taken straight to the document with the questions. I have typed a couple of them as an example.

In this second document, you will write down a glossary of new words in their context. You must write at least two words per chapter, with the translation into Spanish, the context, the page number and your name. I have also typed a couple of them as an example.

I think if we work together on this, everybody will benefit from the experience.

APLE COMPUTER ROOM. January 27th and February 3rd

Hello students,

20 minutes: First of all, I want you to practise a little bit of listening to see what your level is at this stage of the year. You can do it here:

Clipped from http://www.examenglish.com/leveltest/listening_level_test.htm
Read the instructions for the test. You should try to do the test in less than 20 minutes. That means listening to each clip no more than twice.  Once you have finished, you have the chance to email the result. Write your name and then my email address javiprofeingles@hotmail.com. Then, raise your hand and tell me you're done.

10 minutes: You are going to play this game: Wordshake . It looks stupid, but it is rather captivating. I got 30 points on my third attempt. You can't try more than three times.

20 minutes: Geography quiz.
Try this geography quiz and see how many levels you manage to complete. It is very good practise for  your Geography class next year.

The Traveler IQ Challenge ranks your geographic knowledge. What's your TIQ?
